a woman smiling for the camera

More than 20 years ago, a college classmate told me that the restaurant where she worked was looking for waitstaff, and asked if I would consider working with her.  That first serving job was at a tiny, family-owned restaurant in a college town; I never imagined that it would lead me to fall in love with this industry, or that I would still be working in a restaurant today.  Since that time, I have experienced the whole spectrum: family-owned, franchised, and large corporate restaurants; both casual and fine dining.  I have worked in every position, but the majority of my career has been serving, bartending, and management.  Working with people, helping to create memories, and sharing my passion for great wine and food has become such an important part of who I am.  My husband and I are proud Des Moines natives, raising two teenagers in our hometown.   Our family is very involved with Scouting, and enjoys spending time outdoors.
